Then click on “Upload Plugin” (2. in below screenshot). Next step is to select the file you just downloaded to your computer. After you selected the file click on the “Install Now” button.

In the next screen click “Activate Plugin” for the plugin to work.

Install the plugin manually using FTP

It could be possible that your Hosting provider may have restricted the above mentioned ways to install plugins. In that case the only way to install plugins is installing it using FTP.
First of all you need to download the plugin from the source. Next step is to extract the downloaded zip-file somewhere on your computer. Extracting the file will create a folder with the same name as the plugin.
This is the folder you want to upload to the website using a FTP client.

You should connect to the server with your FTP credentials (hostname or ip address and login name/password). If you don’t have these credentials please contact your hosting provider and ask them.

Once connected you can copy the folder you just extracted to the “/wp-content/plugins” folder on the remote host.

If the upload is ready you need to go to the WordPress admin area in the sidebar and go to “Plugins –> Installed Plugins“. Look for your newly installed plugin and click “Activate“.
